Down the road, we
hope to not only help with goods but also services by offering a program
called “Get My People Going”, which features evening presentations that
give information on health and nutrition, general legal information,
assistance at tax time, and other areas that help families navigate
through hard times. If you would like to help in any way with our
collections or have a desire to share your expertise with your parish
family by giving a presentation, please call Denise at the Parish Life

This is the story
of two banquet rooms. It was war time in Korea. The enemy moved in and
captured an entire village of people. After some thought, they decided not
to just put them to death but to torture them. First, they divided
them into two
groups. The first group was taken into a banquet room. In that room was a
huge banquet table completely filled with every kind of luscious,
delicious food on the earth; fruits, vegetables, meals, breads, a feast
fit for a king. The group members were told they could have whatever they
wished, but must eat with the chopsticks provided. Each were given a pair
of chopsticks 6 feet long. The enemy came back days later to find that
they all had starved to death, for, no
one could use the
6 foot chopsticks. The second group was sent to another room. In that room
was the same huge banquet table completely covered - a feast fit for a
king. And, the group members were also told that they could have whatever
they wished, but
must eat with the chopsticks provided. And so, each were given a pair of
chopsticks 6
feet long. The
enemy came back days later and, to their surprise, this group did not
starve to death because
- they took their
chopsticks and they fed each other.
